Host Mika Brzezinski made a dramatic point on MSNBC's Morning Joe of not reading a Paris Hilton story as the lead item. She started out during the first hour by saying, "I have an apology as well and that is for our lead story ... I hate this story." Then, amid cries of "she's not a journalist any more," and "make your own lead," she shoved the script aside.

An hour later, when Joe Scarborough said, "I want to lead with the Paris Hilton story," Brzezinski responded, "My producer ... is not listening to me. He's put it as the lead story." She went on to say, "I'm going to make a point. We're not covering this," as she tried to light the script on fire and then ripped it up.

An hour after that, the script was back again. "I ripped up the previous Paris Hilton story. They're leading with it again,"said Brzezinski, taking it to the shredder.

Mika Brzezinski of MNSBC rips Paris Hilton Report

In other news, I still want to lick Joe Scarborough all over.

One has to wonder whether the producers either asked Ms. Brzezinski to repeat her theatrics each time, or manipulated her into repeating them. Because if they really didn't want her doing that, they would have gotten her out of there after the first time.

Why Mika didnt put Paris herself through that shredder I dont know.

First Jude thanks for the hugging bears! They came on a day I really needed them!

You know with all the really important things happening in the world it's a shame and disgrace that some rich entitlement baby with nothing to claim but being rich and spoiled, is getting this kind of press over real hard cover news we really need to hear!

Personally I'm tired of Paris and her antics, and sick of the news agencies for making her even more famous giving her precious time on the news that should be reserved for pressing hard core issues like Aaron Hall killed in Indiana because they "thought" he was gay. Why aren't they covering that?

The recent horrid Supreme Court decision made basically opening the door to overturn Brown vs The Board of Education? You know I learned all about segregation growing up with trips to Tennessee with my step-dad to visit his family (he was from there we lived in Illinois)in the late 1950s and seeing separate bathrooms and drinking fountains. I was very young but I do remember it and it was scary even at 7 and 8 years old that one race could be so discarded by society.

I love reading Supreme Court decisions as a hobby and Thurgood Marshall is someone I really enjoy reading about. He doesn't get as much credit as Martin Luther King but he paved the way for Brown vs The Board of Education. And Mr. Marshall had a great sense of humor. If you ever want a good book to read, I suggest his autobiography.

There is so much more important real news other than these "Hollywood sluts" and their giving us crotch shots and displays of their immaturity at every opportunity that I quit watching the news on TV.

What ever happened to real news? Gosh I grew up in the 50s with news reporters that gave the facts and this fluff stuff about celebs was kept for the gossip rags. Now Angelina Jolie deciding to adopt a foreign baby makes the national news over news pieces that impact ALL our lives not just hers.

What ever happened to the real reporters, and where have our heroes gone?

Hugs to ya!
