| Hannity suggested use of Quran in representative's swearing-in same as using "Nazi bible" Mein KampfSummary: Echoing columnist Dennis Prager, Sean Hannity claimed that incoming Rep. Keith Ellison's reported intention to use a copy of the Quran apparently during the ceremonial photo op on the day he is sworn in "will embolden Islamic extremists and make new ones" and suggested that using the Quran for a swearing-in is comparable to using "Hitler's Mein Kampf, which is the Nazi bible."

How come "King James Version" purists don't get pissed off when a copy of "The New International Version" is used for a swearing-in instead?
And why the holy hell do we use a religious tome anyway? Shouldn't people required to swear on the Constitution, or maybe a stack of tax bills, instead? You're not pledging your service to God, you're pledging it to your citizens.
Which is more reason why Ellison should be able to use the Quaran and not be required to use the Bible. What is the purpose of a man swearing his oath to a deity he doesn't even believe in?
I swear by my country and all the freedoms and rights it upholds not to louse it up! that's got a nice ring to it!
Humanity needs to grow the fuck up and ditch this ridiculous waste of time.
So he uses a Quran for the Photo-Op... it says... "OMG, The Americans allow Muslims in the Government too!"
Talk about making a mountain out of a Molehill.
Maybe using the Ellison's revered book for swearing in (although no book is really necessary, really) can ENTERTAIN THE IDEA that we US citizens really are tolerant of other people's religious beliefs, just like we are supposed to be. These ignorant fuckheads don't even know what to do with the freedoms we have. It is a fucking photo op, ya batards. Maybe it'll send a good message, ja ever think of that?
