Profiles In Courage: Marilyn Musgrave (R-Gutless Whore)
31st-Oct-2006 09:11 am
Sometimes, there just aren't enough rocks.
Marilyn Neoma Musgrave, American politician, has been a Republican member of the United States House of Representatives since 2003, representing the 4th District of Colorado. The district takes up most of eastern Colorado outside the Denver and Colorado Springs-Pueblo metropolitan areas, but most of its vote is cast in Fort Collins and Greeley.

She is best known nationally as the main sponsor of the Federal Marriage Amendment. Her proposed Amendment to the United States Constitution would ban any state from recognizing same-sex marriage. She was quoted in the New York Times and Fort Collins Coloradoan as stating, "As we face the issues that we are facing today, I don’t think there’s anything more important out there than the marriage issue."
Really Marilyn? Nothing more important? How about you tell that to one of the children sitting in front of their parent's coffin, having been blow apart in Iraq. Add insult to injury, Clinton left office and a $400 billion surplus for Bush - and now the deficit is swelling exponentially, currently at $8.5 trillion - $2 billion a week going in Iraq. That child whose parent was consigned to a grave will end up being one of those holding the receipt for the dead parent. We're approaching 3,000 dead American soldiers in this sham of a war, and hundreds of thousands of dead Iraqi innocents. Same sex marriage is more important than the lives of soldiers enabling her right to spout this kind of rhetoric. Watch as she runs like a fucking cockroach when the lights come on and a reporter calls her on it:

Every time I see a situation like this it is my desire to somehow have the target contend with it continuously until they completely freak. I mean, I am sure some volunteers would not mind taking a week or so among them and hound this woman every way possible until an answer is publicly given. Or, better yet, she totally loses it.

That's exactly the thought I had in mind a few days ago when I blogged about "not taking it anymore".

It is time to stop sitting back and saying "Isn't that awful?" and time to get up, get out and get in the faces of the people who say and do such ignorant things.

has a theory that's why Republicans tend to get elected: the general voter has a deep respect for the assholes that fights dirty in an election because, according to his theory--that's who you'd want to wage a war on terror, right? It appeals to our lizard brain. Guys who fight dirty in a bar room brawl, are the types you want on your side.

Democrats need a few lessons on having balls from Bill Clinton, who p=owned Chris Wallace a few weeks ago. Or like Barney Frank's p=powning the editorial guy from the Wall Street Journal on Bill Maher's show a few weeks ago. Great stuff.

The people make their living in the public light, shaping policy that affects us all. As such, these people should not expect the same sort of 'privacy' in daily life that ordinary folks have. In other words, regardless of where this person works or lives, they walk among their constituency. Their effects on my daily life do not take place conveniently like press gatherings. So, if that someone is making boneheaded policy that affects me at all times, should I not be able to come up to them at a restaurant and give them a piece of my mind? I mean, a shitty policy can apply to me while I am trying to eat, or sleep or go about my daily business, correct?

I'm still registered to vote in Fort Collins... I'll be voting against the woman for whom the term 'cunt' seems inadequate.

Well, there's yet another reason why living in CO drives me batty. Can't do anything about it, though--I'm in the Springs, unfortunately.
