I have a great story to tell about my Mama to give you an idea of what she's like, and it may give a better idea of why I am like I am being that she raised me. This is a perfect illustration of her, it really is. A couple of months ago I suppose, my sister Shay and her friend took Mama to the movies. Shay finally got tired of Mama's pestering for them to go see Brokeback Mountain, so off they went. Ever since I first told her about this film, she's been chomping at the bit to see it, but at the time she still lived upstate and it wasn't playing there. Anyway, they go to see it and just after the scene where Alma (Michelle WIlliams) says to Ennis (Heath Ledger) "You don't go up there to go fishin'", it got very quiet in the theater and Mama started laughing and yelled rather loudly "THEY SURE DO! SHORT POLE FISHIN'! HAHAHAHAHA!!!!!" My sister said the entire theater was in uproarious laughter. Have I mentioned that she's 74 years old? That's my mama, alright.
So for all of you Mothers out there, be you actual ones, figurative ones, would-be ones, whatever - Happy Mother's Day... *warm biscuit love*
