Christmas Music Post

The Vince Guaraldi Trio songs (From A Charlie Brown Christmas) and the Glen Campbell song are my most favorite. I remember being about 12 years old and having coffee with my parents one Saturday morning still in our pajamas and sitting by the fire, watching morning news and taking turns reading the paper. It was about a week or two before Christmas and it was sleeting like mad outside. This music was playing and I remember feeling very safe and happy, I remember my dogs laying at my feet by the fireplace and them waking up long enough to stretch and yawn. I remember my Daddy making a cassette tape of this music (it was all on vinyl) so we could take it with us in the car. After we'd had our coffee and breakfast, everyone got dressed and I went with Daddy and Shay (my sister) went with Mama to do some final Christmas shopping. We finished early and I was really hoping that the sleet would let up so I could go to the batting cages, but no such luck. We went to an arcade instead and had a good time. Later that afternoon, my brother and sister-in-law came over and brought my first nephew to see us. At that point, Joshua was about two and a half weeks old. He just turned 23 on the 5th of this month. As this was the last time I can ever remember feeling safe and happy in that house, this music is very precious to me. So the first three songs remind me of that time, the others are newer favorites. Enjoy.
