Army expects to miss recruiting goals again
The Army expects to miss its recruiting goals again this month and next, Army Secretary Francis J. Harvey said Wednesday, and it is developing a new sales pitch that appeals to the patriotism of parents who have been reluctant to steer their children toward the Army.

Umm.... Hands up - who can blame them? I'm not the biggest fan of Michael Moore, but I'm 100% in favor of his efforts to recruit for the armed services by starting first with the children of Congressional figures and Senators. Put your fucking money where your mouth is, THEN talk to me about patriotism. Fuckers.
Speaking of people I'm not necessarily fans of, I have a new respect for Moby. From his journal:
"My note to the far-right would be: you can’t have it both ways. If you genuinely believe in the sanctity of life then you cannot support the death penalty and you cannot allow people to buy automatic assault weapons and you cannot support wars that result in the deaths of hundreds of thousands of innocent people. And if you genuinely believe in states rights then you can’t pass intrusive federal legislation when the states do things that you arbitrarily disagree with."
Well put, o' bald crunchy one...

Very well written piece, Jack Matel pulls it off again in finding commonalities across partisan lines. This is part of the reason I read Watchblog.
SENATOR BULLROAR WON’T STOP! John McCain just won’t stop lying. When will your brave “spokesmen” make him?

A Great Big Fist Job
Karl Rove is a frustrated fat man; no matter how much he works, he can't train his male leather slave to take a fisting.

I love the Rude Pundit! Careful when you read this, as with most of these posts made by RP, they're pretty graphic. Nothing pictorial, but possibly NSFW content. And I'll prep you for that now as a courtesy, so no whining to me after clicking the link about how much your pussy hurts 'cause I warned you. I really need to make an icon or banner to that effect, I really do.

"Then they had some kind of emotional reaction and vomited."

Sort of the emotional reaction you get when you find human body parts in your dinner?

And I think Moby's quote hit it well.

Moby is very eloquent, in my opinion. I love his work and thoughts. Precious little I don't find myself nodding to.

Finger, creepy, way too close to home. I have FRIENDS in San Jose. Ewww. Yuckity yuck.

Love these Christian groups. "NO DYING *EVER*!" It's like their barring people from heaven by the sheer act of keeping them from dying. Don't suppose any of the jackasses thought of THAT now. Because OBVIOUSLY being attached to life's slender thread via a feeding tube is INFINATELY more rewarding than just going to heaven. (Work with me here. Suspension of disbelief and all that.) They believe in this beautiful thing, but don't want people to get there. That, my friend, is just beautiful.

Really diggin' Moby's idea. I may have to try that.
