BACK DOOR BOY IN A FRONT DOOR WORLD

This was my first stab at making Sage's bento box lunch.

For the chip part I put three of the honey butter crackers underneath the lid so that they would lay flat and not get broken, but not until I was putting in the ice packs - didn't want them to get stale in the fridge. Dessert was the 2 mini blueberry muffins, and the egg was the one in the fish mold. She wanted tuna, hence the fish.



So what do you think, arie? Does it pass muster?

It's been raining here ever since yesterday afternoon when the remnants of TS Fay rebounded and came back through Alabama & Georgia and only just now has the rain stopped. No sooner did it stop when the clouds lifted and it was bright, lemony sunshine everywhere like the prettiest of spring days. Very cool.

This morning the storm sirens went off as there was a bad cell barreling through two towns over, but nothing untoward happened here at all. With any luck the rain will hold off for at least a day or two and I can take Sage & her friend Genesis to the playground after school tomorrow.

Tomorrow marks my halfway point being here, but it certainly doesn't feel like it at all. Time is flying by, actually. I miss home and miss my boys, but I think the break from one another will also do us some good. I do look forward to seeing best beloved on Saturday and having him sleeping next to me that night. We generally don't do well apart from one another after more than a week, so the timing for this worked out just fine.

I really REALLY want a MacBook Pro now, I'm serious. This thing just makes so much more sense than a PC does, and it is incredibly efficient. It took a little getting used to, but I really think I've pretty well gotten the hang of it. What I don't know I can literally ask it and it directs me where I need to be in the most simple language possible. It doesn't hurt that it looks awesome either - plus, the keyboard is perfect for me, it never feels hot, and barely makes any discernible noise.
