Profiles In Courage: Marilyn Musgrave (R-Gutless Whore)

Sometimes, there just aren't enough rocks.
Marilyn Neoma Musgrave, American politician, has been a Republican member of the United States House of Representatives since 2003, representing the 4th District of Colorado. The district takes up most of eastern Colorado outside the Denver and Colorado Springs-Pueblo metropolitan areas, but most of its vote is cast in Fort Collins and Greeley.

She is best known nationally as the main sponsor of the Federal Marriage Amendment. Her proposed Amendment to the United States Constitution would ban any state from recognizing same-sex marriage. She was quoted in the New York Times and Fort Collins Coloradoan as stating, "As we face the issues that we are facing today, I don’t think there’s anything more important out there than the marriage issue."
Really Marilyn? Nothing more important? How about you tell that to one of the children sitting in front of their parent's coffin, having been blow apart in Iraq. Add insult to injury, Clinton left office and a $400 billion surplus for Bush - and now the deficit is swelling exponentially, currently at $8.5 trillion - $2 billion a week going in Iraq. That child whose parent was consigned to a grave will end up being one of those holding the receipt for the dead parent. We're approaching 3,000 dead American soldiers in this sham of a war, and hundreds of thousands of dead Iraqi innocents. Same sex marriage is more important than the lives of soldiers enabling her right to spout this kind of rhetoric. Watch as she runs like a fucking cockroach when the lights come on and a reporter calls her on it:

Marilyn Musgrave PWNED

Bush Moves Toward Martial Law
In a stealth maneuver, President Bush has signed into law a provision which, according to Senator Patrick Leahy (D-Vermont), will actually encourage the President to declare federal martial law (1). It does so by revising the Insurrection Act, a set of laws that limits the President's ability to deploy troops within the United States. The Insurrection Act (10 U.S.C.331 -335) has historically, along with the Posse Comitatus Act (18 U.S.C.1385), helped to enforce strict prohibitions on military involvement in domestic law enforcement. With one cloaked swipe of his pen, Bush is seeking to undo those prohibitions.

For the current President, "enforcement of the laws to restore public order" means to commandeer guardsmen from any state, over the objections of local governmental, military and local police entities; ship them off to another state; conscript them in a law enforcement mode; and set them loose against "disorderly" citizenry - protesters, possibly, or those who object to forced vaccinations and quarantines in the event of a bio-terror event.

The law also facilitates militarized police round-ups and detention of protesters, so called "illegal aliens," "potential terrorists" and other "undesirables" for detention in facilities already contracted for and under construction by Halliburton. That's right. Under the cover of a trumped-up "immigration emergency" and the frenzied militarization of the southern border, detention camps are being constructed right under our noses, camps designed for anyone who resists the foreign and domestic agenda of the Bush administration.

Had enough yet?

This is priceless and I love it.

Remember when I posted a while ago about Stephanie Miller on Hannity & Colmes? Link: (Stephanie Miller Explains “Journalism” to Fox News) Video:

Stephanie Miller Out-Foxes Fox News

BradBlog wrote up a post on some Right-wing nutjob Hannityite that sent her a death threat:
A man from Centerville, Ohio, identifying himself as "Sock" Sokolowski has sent a death threat to radio host Stephanie Miller after a recent appearance on Fox "News'" Hannity & Colmes.

On her popular Stephanie Miller Show this morning, the radio host telephoned "Sock" — who included his address and phone number with the letter — to confront him live and on air about the letter. You can now listen to this morning's phone call here [MP3]. Larry Johnson of NoQuarter has identified this man and posted another letter which "Sock" apparently sent to a local newspaper. Given the text of his letter to Stephanie, this passage from his LITE railing for the importance of "conservatism" in America strikes at our irony bone:
As proven in the Bush v. Kerry presidential race, [Americans] want the candidates to offer their agenda for the nation rather than simply hate and venom for the opposition. They want to consider alternatives on a range of issues, but all the left offered was a hatred toward our president.
As well, KamaAina at DU has located another laugher of letter from "Sock" to the Dayton City Paper from last year headlined "CONSERVATISM IS WINNING THE WAR" which calls for, among other things, the ascendency of George "Makaka" Allen and Condi Rice as our next President and VP.

Here now, "Sock's" not at all "hate and venom" filled death threat to Stephanie in full:
