On Clinton, The Wallace 'Interview', & What I Think About All Of It.

First things first, the now infamous 'interview' Fox News' Chris Wallace did with Bill Clinton. I use the term 'interview' with all intended snarcasm, because first it's Clinton on Fox News. Second, it's Chris Wallace (R-Tool). Third, he was supposed to be there talking about the environment and global warming, then came the typical Fox News style ambush on Clinton, in the form of bin Laden. According to Wallace:
"I was stunned by this kind of conspiratorial view of all this. All I did was ask him a question, and I think it was a legitimate news question. I was surprised that he would conjure up that this was a hit job."

No, what really surprised you, Chris, was that he got hip to you on the spot - then bitchslapped you like the bitch you really are. Want to venture a guess at whether or not this sorry bastard ever asked any Bush Administration officials the same kinds of questions about their pre-9/11 efforts to combat terrorism in interviews past? Of course not, but see for yourself.

Bill 'Slick Willie' Clinton, the Democrat who'll kick your ass, has a perfect memory and analytic tools far beyond most people. Clinton immediately offered names, dates and places in response to Wallace's rhetorical windbaggery, Wallace was left with his mouth hanging open. It was apparent that he had not read the 9/11 Commission Report, had not read Richard Clarke's book, and had lied to get the interview. Bill Clinton been the scapegoat/whipping boy for all US failures in the eyes of Conservatives since the 90's, remember that. Think in terms of pretext and subtext. I personally worked on BOTH Clinton/Gore campaigns, I canvassed my ass off, and given a few exceptions (DOMA, Don't Ask/Don't Tell, and the estimated $1+ Billion proposed on anti-terror measures from the onset being the standouts) I believe that Bill Clinton has been the best President this country has seen in my lifetime, flaws and all.

So watch the interview for yourself, then consider a few things. I have MUCH to say on this subject. Collapse )

So the next time you have someone impugning Clinton's record and anti-terrorism actions as if he's the real one responsible for the lead-up to 9/11, remember those 9 months between January & September 2001 where there were many opportunities handed to our current Administration by the previous one, the one with a record of actions taken, and not only was nothing done about it, but they've consistently blamed everyone except themselves for it. If that's not enough, you link them here.

Now with a picture of the bastard!!

BEST. EVAR.
Inmate has victim's name tattooed on him
EVANSVILLE, Ind. - An inmate serving a life sentence for molesting and murdering a 10-year-old girl named Katie was apparently forcibly tattooed across the forehead by a fellow prisoner with the words "KATIE'S REVENGE," authorities say.

Anthony Ray Stockelman, 39, was removed from the general prison population for his own safety last weekend after authorities discovered the tattoo, officials said.

Prison officials said an inmate has been identified as a suspect.

A photo of what is identified as Stockelman's forehead appeared this week on a crime blog called "Lost In Lima Ohio" that focuses on news reports about crimes against children and women.

Two prison guards suspected of supplying the picture were fired for making unauthorized copies of an evidence photo, said Rich Larsen, a spokesman for the Wabash Valley state prison in Carlisle, about 70 miles north of Evansville.

Child molesters rank near the bottom of the prison hierarchy and are often brutalized by other inmates. Tattoos are against prison regulations, but inmates often fashion crude tattoo instruments with plastic utensils and needles.

Stockelman's tattoo covers nearly his entire forehead.

"If I had to guess I'd say it's a statement from the inmates," said Collman's father, John Neace.

Stockelman pleaded guilty to abducting, molesting and drowning Katlyn "Katie" Collman, whose body was found in 2005 in a creek about 15 miles from her home in the town of Crothersville.

Police initially believed Katie was abducted and slain because she had stumbled onto a methamphetamine operation in the neighborhood, but that theory was later discarded.

Another man confessed to the killing at one point but was cleared after DNA and other evidence connected Stockelman to the crime.

Hat tip to darke for the image - you fucking rock, man!

Best Banksy Stunt EVAR!!

"The time of getting fame for your name on its own is over. Artwork that is only about wanting to be famous will never make you famous. Any fame is a by-product of making something that means something. You don't go to a restaurant and order a meal because you want to have a shit."

- Banksy

Banksy is without question my favorite living artist, I agree completely with city_of_dis to that end. His work is both humorous and incendiary, and he will not be ignored. The best thing about his work is that it is left completely to speak for itself, you absolutely have to concede on this point. In part because it is simply that powerful and in part because no one really knows who he is - he is a graffiti terrorista, really. This is just part of what makes him so brilliant.

Recently, he's made me even more proud than usual. He replaced up to 500 copies of Paris Hilton's debut album, Paris, in 48 different UK record stores with his own cover art and remixes by Danger Mouse. Music tracks were given titles such as "Why am I Famous?", "What Have I Done?" and "What Am I For?". Several copies of the CD were purchased by the public before stores were able to remove them, some going on to be sold for as much as £750 on online auction websites. The cover art depicted Paris Hilton digitally altered to appear topless. Other pictures feature her with a dog's head replacing her own, and one of her stepping out of a luxury car, edited to include a group of homeless people, which included the caption 90% of success is just showing up. The clever bastard even fixed it so the packaging had the original barcode on it, so unless you were paying attention (unlikely if you'd actually spend money on a Paris Hilton CD) you bought it and had no idea what it really was until you went to unwrap it! Once the stores got hip to it, they yanked all remaining doctored CDs but not before several were purchased. They're selling now on eBay & other auction sites for hundreds of bucks.
