They have no cholesterol and have 67% less fat than the regular corn dogs with meat in them. I am so stoked, I LOVE me a corn dog!
For those of you that don't know, let me explain. When I lived in Atlanta in the late 80's/early 90's, there was a band that I was friends with - much like I am with Jennifer now. They were called Insane Jane and they absolutely blew me away the first time I heard them and later saw them live. The energy from this singer who called herself "Yellow", the words she would write for her songs, the fact that the guitarist played a Rickenbacker (ROOOOOOCK!!), and that voice... UH...MAH...GAH... I met them and spent some time getting to know Yellow. We had very similar musical influences, Patti Smith and Concrete Blonde for a start. Yellow was with me at the first Lollapalooza and we stood together dancing when Jane's Addiction played what was to be their final tour and Perry came onstage naked except for a fedora. It was just before I lost my mind and got into substances I had no business bothering with, and life was full of possibilities and wonder for me.
Well, after 2 amazing albums and a fairly substantial fanbase, they broke up and scattered to the wind. I'm still in contact with Tom Branch, who was a founding member and the guitarist - not even HE knew where to get their first album (A Green Little Pill) on cd or cassette. I'd exhausted Atlanta for it, found the second one (Each Finger) on CD last year and got it - but nowhere could I find AGLP... until it mysteriously popped up out of obscurity on eBay.
Lo and behold, today I went to Mom's and she had bought the copy of the CD for me and I was reunited with it after all these years. You cannot know what this album means to me. Hearing this again reminds me of my initial reaction to this band, it was the same as my reaction to hearing Jennifer and Jeff Buckley for the first time. Those of you who know me personally know how serious that is. It's that reaction that says "Do I know nothing? Have I heard nothing of music before?" I'm listening to it right now and my eyes are tearing up because it's just like I'm sitting with a long lost friend and holding their hand while we play catch up.
This disc has been out of print for 12 years, man. WHO WANTS COPIES??? Get me 2 blank CD-R's, and they're yours!
