In this disturbing video, the potential problems voting machines could cause on Election Day is seen in stark light.

West Virginia Vote Flipping Caught On Tape (VIDEO)

I didn't find the video disturbing, so much as incredibly informative. Technology breaks sometimes. Now I know how this technology might break and can watch out for it, if I end up using that kind of machine. It's good to know how it might break and it's sort of common sense to always make sure that the name you're picking is actually the one that's checked, x-ed or punched.

Yes. Its not disturbing, it is a flaw in touch screen technology. Its not just voting machines this happens on.. all the touch screen point-of-sale cash registers out there (Dennys, McDonalds, Burger King, etc) are susceptible to this type of problem. I deal with it every day...

Even after calibration, replacing the actual touch panel may be necessary.

And the video does make a good point--ALWAYS check your vote before submitting it.

The title of the video post is very misleading. This isn't "vote flipping". This is touch screen malfunction. Its not a conspiracy to change your vote.

Vote flipping would be where the machine shows you voting for somebody, but when you click submit, or somewhere down the line, your vote is actually altered in someway without your knowledge or your ability to change it.

Well, this little "touch screen malfunction" has been witnessed in at least five states I've read of. And in nearly every case the flip has been from Democrat to Republican. Quite an odd coincidence, no?

I heard about something similar to this several days ago, may have been this same case. It looks more like a miscalibrated touchscreen.

Anyway, it's stuff like this that keeps me requesting a mail-in paper ballot.

I voted in GA today. There were signs all over that told voters to check the end screen that goes over all of your choices.

Wish I could vote in Georgia.

Check out my last two blog entries.

OMG wtf!!! I know a lady on the Board of Directors for the Election Commission in our town. She's actually way way sweet. I hope they get all of this fixed. You have every reason to be outraged.
