Great, Now I'm A Hairdresser Too!
12th-Jul-2008 01:30 am
In my quest to be a jack-off-of-all-trades, I did something earlier that came to me very naturally. Perhaps because my mother owned and operated a university of cosmetology when I was little, or simly the fact that I'm queer, but it easy very easy. I'm getting way ahead of myself.

So my sister (daisy_down) comes over with the family in tow to go swimming. My nephew Jake (15 years old) decides that he wants me to give him a haircut. After consulting him about just what he wanted, I did it for him. I even talked him into going a little bit further with the haircut than he'd originally anticipated, which he was very happy with. After it was done and I put some styling glue/stiff stuff in it, it looked awesome.

He really loved it, as did everyone. We encourage individuality in my family. It's what he wanted, I was only too happy to oblige.

I wish I'd thought of the "individuality" angle when I was 10 and took the scissors to my bangs, and my mother came home later and just stared at me for a couple of minutes. LOL ...

All I can think to say is "Do not mess with the Zohanbiscuit" :)

I like it, I'd almost call it a rockabilly mohawk since the curls give it a nice pompadour look - or maybe a Moz-hawk?

My nephew went for the spikey mohawk this summer rather than the foot tall fan last summer.

Hmmm. It's a little long - needs more room to grow! You should totally talk him into letting you gel it into spikes on his head.

I hope my kids are adventurous like that!

His hair is naturally curly, so we have to straighten it first, then spike it.

Biscuit's pics were done right after the chop.

Tomorrow, we'll be bleaching it out and dying it blue.

Blue is a great color!

Wish my boss would let me post pics of him online... his hair is awesome. I've threatened my hubby that I'm going to dye my hair pink, but I'm afraid it won't go well with my complexion. ;)

I tried to talk my son into a mohawk but he just wouldn't do it. I like Jake's, though. It looks good! Nice job there.

I wanted to ask you what happened to April's board because whenever I try to get on it takes me to a conservation website. (I was out of the loop for quite a bit because I was in the hospital) Did she shut it down? Am I just kicked out?

He wanted a fauxhawk again, but I talked him into the mohawk - I think it suits him well.

Do you mean the Din? The Din is still up and running.

That's a pretty radical change of look .. no shit. Jake is a brave boy! It suits him. And blue .. purplish blue .. is my favourite unnantural hair colour. Let's see a pic of that when it's done. I'd have mine blue .. but at my age not sure it would suit me dammit.
