LOL - I love telling people that just because heterosexuality is common, that certainly doesn't make it normal.

He was planted by the ABC crew to say that for reaction. That's an old one. Here's my take on it:

The first commenter in that thread was right - the US is the most backward Western nation.

See, This is what scares me about the South. Being California born and raised, I have no idea how bad it is there because it's a bit better here.I say a bit because I have met homophobic people who were also raised in LA, but that's very odd to me.

In the middle of this nation it's still very accepted to hate what you don't understand. I honestly don't know how someone who is gay decides to stay in that part of our country.

I recently took a trip to Austin, TX to visit my friends who have been together 12 years. They have a lovely straight couple who they are very close to. I assumed, because they are friends with them that they had a more 'human' or at least more liberal point of view on gay relationships. My friends informed me that their friends believe it's wrong and that its a choice they have made.

After my shock my next thought is why the hell are you friendly with someone who thinks like that? So, for the past few weeks when I think about them I wonder if living in Texas this is something so common that you just live with it. To me it's like me trying to befriend a klan member, I just wouldn't do it even if they would.

I just don't get the south

but that's coming from a black bi-sexual female who was raised around gay men and brought up in the theater. I guess my point of view is just going to be different on this than from someone from the south.

The same thing was done in New Jersey... with the same results... the Police were called in.

I would have liked to be the one who took that 911 call and make a complete ass out of that caller. Oh, well, it's on TV now, so that will have to do.

I didn't see the clip about the local news report. I was curious how that came out and what their tone was. The headline made it sound like they were getting spied on and not happy.

Am I the only one who finds it just as disturbing that people feel the need to stop and tell how they're okay with what's going on?
