Is homophobia associated with homosexual arousal?
Adams HE, Wright LW Jr, Lohr BA.

Department of Psychology, University of Georgia, Athens 30602-3013, USA.

The authors investigated the role of homosexual arousal in exclusively heterosexual men who admitted negative affect toward homosexual individuals. Participants consisted of a group of homophobic men (n = 35) and a group of nonhomophobic men (n = 29); they were assigned to groups on the basis of their scores on the Index of Homophobia (W. W. Hudson & W. A. Ricketts, 1980). The men were exposed to sexually explicit erotic stimuli consisting of heterosexual, male homosexual, and lesbian videotapes, and changes in penile circumference were monitored. They also completed an Aggression Questionnaire (A. H. Buss & M. Perry, 1992). Both groups exhibited increases in penile circumference to the heterosexual and female homosexual videos. Only the homophobic men showed an increase in penile erection to male homosexual stimuli. The groups did not differ in aggression. Homophobia is apparently associated with homosexual arousal that the homophobic individual is either unaware of or denies.
Hands up - who's surprised? Every time I see some asshole spewing anti-gay bullshit, I always think "Get over yourself - you know you want the noodle..." - and now I have the data to back it up.

I know - pretty cool, huh?

Do me a favor when you get a minute and explain this to me in lay terms, please. I'm sure that for certain academics it's perfectly understandable, but I'm neither caffeinated sufficiently or properly versed in this terminology enough for it to make clear sense to me.

Color me distinctly unsurprised.

Er, I meant that for the main post.

There is no reason for people to write the way they did in that link. Sweet Jebus. I doubt even the author could understand things written like that.

Well, it's a matter of academic record and the findings of these studies have to be worded as such.

I know, I know, but it doesn't have to be completely incomprehensible!

Based on this where it says "It is an electrical event indicative of a state of readiness or expectancy" I'd say that it's way of putting electrodes on the brain to measure when when you're horned - in this case if a picture of naked female, male, or underage booty makes you horned.
