On Today's LJ Strike

Who besides me knows that LJ user stats get done by the week or by the month, not by the day - and that consequently if, and it's a big if, a noticeable percentage of people would actually stop using LJ for a day, it would go completely unnoticed?

Although most of the reasoning I've seen flying through my friends pages has morphed into a censorship issue -- that LJ has blocked searches on controversial topics (like bisexuality). This would bother me more if I could get any real corroboration that it has happened.

As of yet, I haven't seen anything.

I've seen that on my flist, too - and the only concrete examples that I've seen provided are from the "delete anything mentioning or presenting pedophilia" decisions, including a shitload of fanfic slash porn involving Harry Potter and Dumbledore (ewwwwww BrainBleachNow, plskthx), from last year right after SUP took over LJ. As for keyword searches, the only references I've seen are that "So-and-so says in this post that it happened", but when I've gone to So-and-so's post, it's says "So-and-so-else says in this post that it happened", serve, volley, lather, rinse, repeat.

Somehow, and I don't understand how, that morphed and mushroomed into "SUP is CENSORING any and all GLBT content everywhere on LJ!!!" which is demonstrable bullshit. I'm with tonethbone - it's Spring, so it's time for the Annual Vernal Equinox LJ Drama Explosion. Last year it was the Bear411Brouhaha; this year's it's CENSORSHIP!.

Now that's it's Spring, I really wish that the DramaLlama would tell all of these folks to back away slowly from their keyboards and go outside for "recess".
