You know Larry and I have been married 35 years been together 38 1/2. We don't agree on everything and some things we are total opposites on. Like I don't care for sports and he loves them. Yet we manage to get along everyday without degrading each other for being different from the other. In fact that's what makes our marriage so rich, we each bring unique things to our relationship.
Why can't people just leave others alone to live their own lives? If someone goes to church 7 days a week it isn't hurting me so why do I care? If someone chooses to NOT go to church it doesn't change my life in any way, so again why should I care?
If someone is gay it doesn't affect my life so why should I have any input into their life? I shouldn't. So why do these people think they have any right to tell others how to live?
Why the hell can't these religious zealots leave gay people to live their lives without interference? I can't see how someone else's being gay affects their life? If they think it's a sin, so what? Do they not read the Bible? Judge not, least ye be judged". I guess they'll get theirs on judgment day.
I happen to think preachers/priest/ministers using their churches to molest children and bilk people out of their hard earned money a sin, but then that's my opinion.
They need to "clean up their own back yards" before they go trying to change others.
When are we going to learn to accept people as being individuals? This world would be pretty boring if we had no rainbow of colors and differences in people.

I think the government should get out of the marriage business altogether.
If two people are married in a church or mosque or gogue or circle or whatever=marriage.
If two people are united by a judge or justice of the peace or whatever=civil union.
The stoopid, it reigns thick in our government.
