Huckabee Wants to Rewrite Constitution, Says It's Easier to Change Than "Word of Living God"
The Constitution never uses the word "God" or makes mention of any religion, Mike Huckabee thinks it's time to put an end to that.

Radical cleric and Republican presidential hopeful Mike Huckabee wants to rewrite the constitution:
The United States Constitution never uses the word "God" or makes mention of any religion, drawing its sole authority from "We the People." However, Republican presidential candidate Mike Huckabee thinks it's time to put an end to that.

"I have opponents in this race who do not want to change the Constitution," Huckabee told a Michigan audience on Monday. "But I believe it's a lot easier to change the Constitution than it would be to change the word of the living god. And that's what we need to do -- to amend the Constitution so it's in God's standards rather than try to change God's standards so it lines up with some contemporary view."

When Willie Geist reported Huckabee's opinion on MSNBC's Morning Joe, co-host Mika Brzezinski was almost speechless, and even Joe Scarborough couldn't immediately find much to say beyond calling it "interesting." [Raw Story]
For starters, Huckabee (may have) supported a proposal to rewrite the 14th Amendment to deny citizenship to children born on US soil to undocumented immigrant parents. Huckabee is the only presidential candidate to have called for the elimination of birthright citizenship.

OMFG...

Ok... I support denied citizenship to children born to illegal immigrants - especially since said citizenship is granted to children AND their mothers. I mean what, just because you can have someone climb up on you and get you knocked up, you can have citizenship? Couldn't that be considered gender discrimination for men who can't get citizenship by having babies!? LOL... FLAWED doesn't have a superlative form does it...

But that bit about Huckabee changing the constitution to violate one of the central ideas that caused its inception is just ridiculous... I means jesus titty fucking christ, what the hell is he trying to pull!?

Actually Mothers do not get automatic citizenship, that child who was born here legally has to wait till they are 21 then they can start the paper work to have their family (Mother
and
Father and unmarried brothers and sisters)but that takes years and money. They have to prove they can support them just to get visas for their family. It isn't a over night thing or easy.

My sister inlaw works with Visas and she says its completely sad how long some people have to wait, some wait for years and die waiting to get in the country legally and some wait long just because of stupid clerical errors that cause them to get the wrong visa codes top that with lack of money to contact anyone for help with their cases and their fear of questioning the US government they are shit out of luck so I can see why people go the easy route.

I can't remember where'd I'd heard that Mothers were granted citizenship so I'll have to concede that I don't know for sure about that...

However... the long process and errors within the immigration and naturalization process serves only as justification for the need of reform - not tolerance. These people come here and leech off our country's resources without paying proper taxes that we all naturally born Americans are required to do. I sympathize with those that do it the right way. I can't even imagine the heartache they go through when so many break our laws and come in illegally.
Perhaps, as I mentioned, our focus should be on reforming the process so that more potential Americans can come here and contribute to our economy rather than just leeching off it. I would think that illegals would prefer to be able to relax in their homes knowing that "la migra" can't take them back rather than constantly living in fear.

*shrug* What can we do? What should we do?

Mike Huckabee scares the shit out of me!!!! I fear for our country if he gets in.

You know what's even scarier? His proposed 23 percent federal sales tax. People who just love it think it means rich people would have to pay more when they buy their fancy cars and toys ... they don't realize it would apply ACROSS THE BOARD to food, gas, clothing, ALL CARS (including cheap ones), toiletries, household supplies - all the things even poor people need to live. If he got a Congress to actually go along with that? It would break our economy.
