RAT BASTARD FRIDAY

Who's the bane of YOUR existence? Surely there's someone who pisses you off in such a huge way that it merits flogging, at least. 'Round here, we call that person a RAT BASTARD. Who is the person you most want to rip a new asshole for whatever reason? Go ahead - now's your chance to put them on blast. Start commenting, and have fun gettin' your hate on - and out. IP logging is off and anonymous commenters WERE welcome, but I've had to disable it since I've gotten six tons of bullshit spam comments lately. Sorry about that.

Go on - vent your spleen...

Also, check out/participate in the Friday Confessional and the subsequent Sunday Stoning, brought to you by the fantastic city_of_dis.

Fuck You
You have totally screwed my life and made me to look like an irresponsible slacker trying to pull a fast one. Lawyers won't talk to me, and the compassionate lady at the Insurance Administration is even telling me that I'm basically fucked. Thank You very much. I now have to borrow against my retirement and hope that there is enough there for me to buy a piece of shit car that will get me around for a couple years..or there is the lovely option of dropping 6 grand into my car that is only worth 7 grand. Repairs needed for issues that didn't seem to be there the day before this fucking accident. An accident resulting from me legally parking my car in front of my home. God, I only hope that karma comes around and gives you some of the shit you make ordinary people go through....

*picks up jaw from the floor*

Sorry ... I'm an insurance agent, and it really, really sucks that Safeco has dicked you over like that.

What really gets me is the idea of paying $6K for repairs on a car with a value of $7K. I'm shocked that they didn't total the car out.

I'd keep at them until they finally give in - they'd have to relent at some point. And I'm sorry that your insurance company is being so sucky!!

I parked my car in front of my home. Early the next morning, a work van lost conrtol (driving 30 mph according to the police record) and hit my car and totaled the car in front of mine.
That was May 7th.
The day I drove my car for the 1st time since the accident (July 16th), it broke down with great sound effects and live action lurching and screeching 22 miles later.
SafeCo is who insures the company of the man who hit me. They say that the issues with the engine, clutch, power steering, exhaust, and rack and pinion are all issues from before the accident. My mechanic told them he can't tell guarantee what is from before or after the accident, since he's not the one who did the initial repairs...so boom...no proof that they are due to the accident either...even though I somehow, miraculously, was able to drive the car everyday to get me to work and my kids to school.
When my insurance (GEICO) tried to contact them to help me, they were told that I took poor care of my car and I'm trying to get one over on them..thus damaging my reputation with my insurance provider.
I filed official complaints with The Better Business Bureau in the region of SafeCo's HQ and with the Maryland Insurance Administration. But their simple retort is, you can't prove the damage is from the accident.
As mentioned, lawyers aren't interested, because I can't prove that any of these issues existed previously, eventhough my mechanic will say that I could not have driven this car in this condition before the accident.
Their official response to the BBB is that they spent$5200, even though the invoice I have here next to the computer says they spent $8082. Add tothat towing AND $1600 for a rental for two months...so of course they don't want to put another penny into this car that is worth $7000 according to blue book...or $8500 according to NADA.

I never asked for money, I never asked for a new car, I just asked for my car in the readily drivable condition it was in the day before this accident.
