Can't say I was ever a huge fan of the vanilla. But I'll have to give it another try.
This I can tell you: The Cherry Coke Zero rocks!

That's odd...there are many things that come to mind about you, Jude (all very complementary, I'll add), but "vanilla" is definitely not one of them! LOL

Yay for Coke doing the right thing by the Angry Biscuit!

In 2000, our local grocery store was having a sale on Vanilla coke, and I had the choice to buy Regular Coke at $2/bottle or Vanilla Coke at $1/bottle. It was an easy choice. I paid double for the unadulterated stuff.

I think that Coke's vanillified cola is horrible - however Vanilla Pepsi is decent (even though for straight cola-to-cola choice, I always prefer Coke to Pepsi).

This would be very nice … if only they'd remove the HFCS (High Fructose Corn Syrup) with which they sweeten it. *sighs and remembers the taste of Coke when it was just sugar in there*

If you're lucky, you can find Coke still made with sugar during Passover. It's made with sugar to keep it kosher. Just look for the little kosher sign (usually a u within a circle) on the cap.

We always get an armload of 2 liters whenever Passover is coming up. 'cuz Coke with sugar = love.

I always buy some extra during that time. Stores are wise to it though. Some here have instituted limits (i.e. x litres or x 12-packs per visit).

That's good to know. I didn't know it until just now.

Costco (big bulk wholesaler) has started stocking Mexican Coke, also made with sugar rather than HFCS, but they're charging a hell of a premium for it. Last I saw, it was $17-ish + tax for 24 12oz bottles. (real bottles - not that plastic stuff)

Oooh. I should check out some of the Mexican stores around here and see if they have the good stuff. I can barely stand regular Coke, but give me the stuff with sugar, and I'm in heaven.
