Purse for upcoming auction
27th-May-2006 11:25 am
This is my most recent project, all courtesy of back issues of Vanity Fair:

It will have a ribboned handle as soon as I can decide on one, and placed in my auction to benefit 4christina.org to help raise money for sapphsmum's family. Just wanted you all to get a sneaky-peek at the progress so far.

Is that a purse? Or just a carrying case type thing? What are the dimensions on it? It's cool.

Yes, it's a purse. Roughly I'd say it's about 11"X6"X2.5", in guesstimations.

OMG!!! I LOVE THAT BOX!!!!!! When I was a teenager, I'd tear the ads out of glamour magazines like Glamour and Vogue and whatever else I could get my little hands on, and tape them ALL over my room. I think I may have to have this box!!! (Or, at least, one very much like it!!!)

Jude it is awesome!

I thank you so very much for helping me out,you are just too kind!

Although it looks like time may be running out. We have no insurance now. We can back pay but considering we'd have to keep paying $1150 a month until Larry finds a job I doubt we're going to be able to accomplish this for the next few months, maybe more depending on when he finds a job.

It's a lot of money, and garage sales, eBay and Larry's part time job is not going to cover it, sad to say.

The sale of this will help with other basics like meds I need that I will not have insurance for now. But for the next year at least I will have no insurance because break in coverage causes everything I have to become pre-existing when Larry does get insurance. Which means everything considering all the health problems I have been diagnosed with the last couple of years.

Also no trip to Mayo in July for the next round of more important tests.

But that is life and we have to accept it and move on. Sometimes life just sucks.

This is a good reason we need health care for all.

Thanks for caring!

Hugs, Christina

Jude, It's been raing here for so long you'd think we were Noah in his Ark!

We got final word yesterday after going through channels of someone I highly respect I can't get SSI unless Larry and I divorce. This week on June 10th we will celebrate our 36th wedding anniversary. Nice gift that would be to give Larry, divorce papers. Although I don't think 36 is a paper year, I thought that was the first year! LOL!

Trying to not fall apart here and keep my sense of humor.

This government doesn't care about gay marriage or anyone's marriage even if it's straight. They don't care about human beings period.

So don't feel too bad my friend about the Gay Marriage Amendment Ban, they don't care if we stay married either! We're all in this sinking boat together, which is why I fight for Gay rights because it isn't just about Gay rights it's about Human Rights!

Love ya you big Bear and I'm glad to see you're home with your love and hope you can continue to work this out. We need more loving gay couples staying together so we can say to the world "It doesn't matter if it's a guy and a woman, two guys or two women as long as they care and love each other. We need to shout from the roof tops, "see you bigots, it does and it can work"!

Hugs and Love, Christina

This is the kind of shit that drives me up the wall, I swear. It's funny how these parallels are linking all of us in some way, but it's also just very sad.

Hang in there hon, what else are you gonna do, you know what I'm sayin'?
