This was a great weekend, even though I got sunburned yesterday at the airshow - just on my face, really - but I was wearing sunglasses the whole day and now look like some kind of freaky red & white raccoon. I know, HOT, right? The airshow was great as usual, only we didn't stay as long as we normally do. Between fatigue, heat, whining children and other errands that needed to be run, we left after the best stuff was over. It was a good time, I think the family enjoyed themselves. Especially D & Maggie, whom I thought were going to come to blows over who was going to seduce the hottie air force pilot we met. Hot and wearing a flight suit? RAWR!! See for yourself: (Pictures 1 & 2)

Friday afternoon was spent going all over town looking for supplies for D's aquarium, which is now set up and beautiful. On an excursion to Petland, I got to hold and play with the most adorable pug puppy, who was feisty and rambunctious as all hell. Anyone that knows me knows that I adore pugs, they are my favorite breed of dog. Lilly(pictures: 1,2, & 3) was the best dog ever, I miss her. This puppy was also crazy hyper, so we named him "Tweak". If both of us were in a different place in this relationship, where we were ready to adopt children, he'd be the one. Well, and the $$$ it would have taken to get him, but don't get me started. Friday night I had dinner from my favorite Korean restaurant (remember this?) Only beef that has been rimmed to perfection, 'cause there's nothing to rim on a twinkie! I digress... This has put me on a new quest, only I hope provides fruitful. I am going to make kimchi, and I'm going to ask my Korean friend to show me how. She said she would already, but I'm finally going to take her up on it. I'm going to take pictures of the progress, so that the subsequent recipe post on how it's done will be better. I could eat this stuff everyday. It is even purported to be a preventative of both SARS and Avian flu, so that's also good.

Very relaxing weekend, all in all. I've had my morning coffee, and it was good. I read a tremendous post from rondacker on Economic Treason, an essay he wrote in 1990 and is terribly thought provoking.

BIG thanks go out to Rob for the recent movie acquisition, I'll reciprocate ASAP. Email me your address and I'll send you some cd-roms of good stuff in return, it'll be easier and I can send more that way.

Upcoming posts:
  • New video post, it's been a long time since I made one.

  • Recipe post, featuring some of my favorite Korean (bulgogi, kimchi, kimchi pancakes & chili/soy/sesame/rice vinegar dipping sauce) and Thai (larb gai, cucumber salad) yummies for the epicurean gastronomes on my friends list.

  • Music post, if I can come up with a good theme before next weekend. I'm seriously thinking 80's, but not the stuff you'd find on a "K-Tel Presents: Totally Tubular 80's" Best Of the 80's compilation cd. If you have any recommendations, please to be commenting.

I love the pug pics. I'm more of a cat person (they require less attention and I'm never home to take care of a dog) but pugs and beagles are dogs I always want around. And why are there no pic of the hottie pilot? Flight suits are snug in all the best spots.

I did get a couple, but they're not that great.

Oh, they're good enough to help with the morning 'distraction' I have already. Ah, I loved those flight suits so much as a child when I was on the air force base to visit my father. I need to find me a military man. Or at least one who knows how to have sex like one.

Eeek! NEVER ever buy petstore puppies, they are always puppymilled! :(

I would so totally love an 80's compilation music post!

OMFG HOTNESS pilot!! Kumbya he's delightful!!

As I've lamented before, I wish we lived closer together. I'm really looking forward to the day we meet. (This stemmed partially from the fact you named the dog Tweak- Jeff and I named our silver tipped shark Tweak because he was such a basketcase fish.) So much to talk about and do!

Such a great weekend, I guess, that after forgetting your neice on Friday, you forgot her mommy on Saturday and didn't ever call or come out to see my new house.

I'm beginning to think this is personal.
22nd-Mar-2006 07:32 pm (UTC) - NON-related question...
How do I get in touch withthe LOCAL PFLAG chapter? I want to use them as a "local support group" for a mini-presentation in my SOCIAL WORK class...
24th-Mar-2006 03:44 am (UTC) - pug pictures
