Libby indicted in CIA leak probe
Source:
Vice President Cheney's chief of staff, I. Lewis "Scooter" Libby, was indicted today by a grand jury on one count of obstruction of justice, two counts of making false statements and two counts of perjury in the CIA leak probe. A news release from special prosecutor Patrick Fitzgerald says Libby allegedly lied "about how and when in 2003 he learned and subsequently disclosed to reporters then-classified information concerning the employment of Valerie Wilson by the Central Intelligence Agency."

White House says Lewis 'Scooter' Libby has resigned.

I still can't figure out how Rove got out of it for doing the same exact thing...

The only trouble is that this is a really weiner beginning that should be blowing up more than it has to date. The spin on it is that this is a nuisance indictment. I have to agree, as neccesary as it is. We need more blood for this to do any more than affect Bush's legacy rather burn his career.Keep digging!

Ain't over yet.

Our bet is that Rove sold out the VP's office.

Early Retirement due to "health issues", Dick?

Almost exactly two years ago, I commented to David that this adminitration will self-destruct within two years from hubris and greed. Now, if I could just apply that level of indight to Lotto!

I'm glad he was indicted, but he's just a scapegoat for the rest of the boys in the BigWhite House. They should all be indicted.

My birthday was 2 days ago - the present just arrived late.
I like Mr. Fitzgerald - I think he is presenting the case and himself really well in the press conference.

He's a toady. His indictment doesn't excite me. (And happily, I doubt that'll be the end of Fitzgerald's indictments - he can stretch them out over weeks or months, if he really wants to garner support/notice for a run at the White House down the road.)

Now, announce Cheney and Rumsfeld are indicted, and I'll do The Meposian Happy Dance!
