A Tennessee state senator sponsoring a state constitutional amendment aimed at "solemnizing the relationship of one man and one woman" is accused in a divorce case of cheating on his wife. Sen. Jeff Miller, a Republican from Cleveland, is accused of "inappropriate marital conduct" in a divorce complaint filed February 25 in Bradley County. The senator's March 2 answer to the complaint "vehemently denies" any inappropriate marital conduct. "He is very hypocritical, fighting for the sanctity of marriage and not keeping his own," the senator's wife of 15 years, Bridgitte Suzanne Miller, said in a report in the Chattanooga Times Free Press. Miller, chairman of the senate Republican caucus, acknowledged the divorce in a statement Thursday. "Divorce is a very difficult time for everyone," he said. "It is a very private matter, which is played out in public proceedings. My chief concern right now is the best interest of our children."
Senate Majority Leader Bill Frist is all but certain to press for a rule change that would ban filibusters of judicial nominations in the next few weeks, despite misgivings by some of his fellow Republicans and a possible Democratic backlash that could paralyze the chamber, close associates said yesterday. Mr. Hurt: Have you ever crossed the line of ethical behavior in terms of dealing with lobbyists, your use of government authority or with fundraising?
Mr. DeLay: Ever is a very strong word.
Umm, Tom? The right answer was "no". [Sourced from Kos] Quantico Search Reveals NO Guckert USMC RecordsThe lies just keep coming, and much like all of his journalistic credentials, this story is writing itself. Maybe he'll find a boyfriend in Jayson Blair, who knows.[Link]

THE HILLARY FACTOR: It’s too bad O’Reilly is kooky so often because, if he weren’t, he could be all the rage. On Tuesday night, Mr. O discussed Ed Klein’s coming book—his well-pimped attack book on Hillary Clinton. And let us say this: Three cheers for O’Reilly! We need many more public figures who are willing to say things like this:All Hail The Rude Pundit!!
O’REILLY (4/12/05): If Mr. Klein's book, which will be released next fall, is well-sourced—that is, if there are names attached to the allegations and the statements in the book are verifiable—then [this show] will analyze what's being put out there. But if anonymous sources rule the day, then we won't consider the book...Yes, kids—that was Bill O’Reilly, who was, in fact, much fairer to Gore in Campaign 2000 than almost anyone else on cable. (He also was tough on the Swift Boat Vets, though not as tough as he should have been.)
Now there is no question that Hillary Clinton is running for president. She is making speeches, raising money, so she is fair game for legitimate criticism. But defamation is not legitimate, and I will protect Mrs. Clinton from unfounded charges, and I will challenge any defamation directed at any political candidate, no matter what their ideology. America doesn't need slash-and-burn politics. We don't need loony ideologues spreading vicious rumors and unsubstantiated charges. That hurts the country, and those people should be scorned, not celebrated.
The smearing on both sides is out of control and promises to reach new lows if Hillary Clinton gains traction in her campaign...Ripping the woman to shreds is wrong, and may even help her. The majority of Americans are fair-minded and reject the politics of hate.
