So.

I am rather curious as to how people come across my journal, whether by common interests or by a mutual friend, you get the idea. Now is your chance to let me know how you've come to read my journal and/or why you've friended me. Or, you can just say hi, that'd be fine too.

Hi! I first met you through LJ Abuse, but didn't friend you until a while after you had left. I finally just friended you one day on a whim, and here I am!
26th-Apr-2005 05:54 pm (UTC)
I'm glad you did!
26th-Apr-2005 03:14 pm (UTC)
Um... I'm your boyfriend. :) That's how I came across your journal. :)

Yes, well - there is that.
26th-Apr-2005 03:46 pm (UTC)
Honestly I can't even recall how I came across your journal anymore. I added you some time ago. I am glad that I did. You have a good mind, and you seem to have a deep and thoughtful soul to go along with it. You post both person or more introspective things, as well as important social/intellectual/political things. Your journal is always a good read.

Though sometimes I feel like the unwanted fly on the wall spying in on you or posting my endless rambles when I read an entry of yours that I like.

In any case you totally rule man, so don't change!

~the fly on your journal wall. ;)
26th-Apr-2005 05:55 pm (UTC)
Thankies! And you're never a fly on the wall here. Feel fre to comment as much as you like.
26th-Apr-2005 04:19 pm (UTC)
Hey there, hot stuff. =) I just wanted to tell you that I think you're amazing. The intensity with which the fire in your heart burns is glorious to see. Thank you for allowing me the opportunity to get to know you.
26th-Apr-2005 05:56 pm (UTC)
Aww, you're so sweet! I *heart* you too, cutie!
27th-Apr-2005 04:42 am (UTC)
I can't say as I really came across it... I was kinda instrumental in its conception. I introduced you to LiveJournal.
27th-Apr-2005 11:24 am (UTC)
Right you are - were it not for the generosity of your code, there would be no [info]jesus_h_biscuit@livejournal.com. Again, thank you. ;O}
27th-Apr-2005 02:34 pm (UTC)
OK, this fartknocker is signing your guest book. I don't remember how I started reading your journal. Through someone else's friends list is how I think I started.
27th-Apr-2005 02:45 pm (UTC)
That sounds about right. Regardless, I'm glad you're here!
27th-Apr-2005 02:41 pm (UTC)
Once upon a time, I couldn't sleep. (That would make it continue to be once upon a time, mind you.) I went browsing through LJ communities, and one search I did was "Lists", as I LOVE lists. There was a community called something like, "10 Things". In said community, there was a HILARIOUSLY blasphamous post that had me crying I was laughing so hard. It was about bumper stickers, and had things like, "Jesus Saves! Passes to Moses! Moses shoots, and scores!" I just had to know who would be so awesome to fly in the face of conservative and say a hearty FUCK YOU! He simply HAD to be my friend. So I went to his LJ, and well, here I am.

Since, I've learned so very much. And I always hear, "hey Jude... don't sing a sad song..." (Even if those aren't the right lyrics.)

Cheers, to one of the most spectacular people to walk the planet!
27th-Apr-2005 02:50 pm (UTC)
Ah yes, my [info]top_10_lists community. I'm obsessed with lists, I make them to do my cleaning projects, groceries, you name it. I'm an organization freak, so that explains some of it.

Ah yes, blasphemy. *gazes rapturously at bobble head Jesus, gently chucks him under the chin*

You know, I actually like that song until people hear my name and immediately break into a bad rendition of it. I think from now on, depending on how horrible the improv is, I might have to start punching folks in the neck for that shit.

Awww - you're sweet! Delusional, mad as a hatter, but sweet - and I love you for it. ;O}
27th-Apr-2005 02:58 pm (UTC)
Hmmm..not sure how I stumbled across you...reading various groovy people's journal and saw your cute little head (icon) several times..so I moseyed on over here to look around inside your head....so far it's been a fun ride..

I love the pic of you with your hands over your head.....you look tasty
27th-Apr-2005 03:03 pm (UTC)
Why thank you, you're very kind. I'm not sure about the whole "tasty" thing, I think I'm pretty gamey. But if you like that kind of thing, then cool.
27th-Apr-2005 03:27 pm (UTC)
The Abuse team, of course. It's one of those places that tends to turn up really amazing people. :)
27th-Apr-2005 03:28 pm (UTC)
Agreed!
27th-Apr-2005 03:43 pm (UTC)
The Abuse Team! I don't know how or why you applied (I don't recall you being a recruit of someone else), but I'm so incredibly glad that you did. My life (and friends page) would be a much darker place without you.

*so much Jude love*
27th-Apr-2005 03:49 pm (UTC)
Actually, [info]arie and I had been friends for over a year when I mentioned to her that I was interested in joining Abuse, and immediately she thought that it was a good idea. She even said at one point that she was going to suggest it to me, as she thought I had the "Zen".

In ways I miss Abuse, but I know that I couldn't budget that amount of time these days. One day I hope to have enough time to work on the team again.

My association with you is priceless beyond measure to me, you're one of my closest friends and I cannot imagine life without you in it. Or my life before you came to be in it, that too.

*bubbaloves*
27th-Apr-2005 04:11 pm (UTC) - Mutual Friend
I found you through a friend of a friend who now goes to Case Western University. The first post I read of yours was a news post. Since I dont have a lot of time to read the news, I thought it was a great way to have the news filtered for me in the format I like and the actual stories I am interested in. Then I realized how much more you actually contribute to the livejournal community. Your life, love, passions, fears, everything is posted. It is truly inspirational for me even if I dont comment all the time. And I am way the hell over in Seattle, Washington. Keep it up.

David
27th-Apr-2005 05:08 pm (UTC) - Re: Mutual Friend
What friend? Now I'm all curious!

My news posts are one of the only ways I can expound on the crap I see daily and give my opinion on said crap in the same venue. Plus, I have it to look back on in a year's time or so to see what eas relevant to me then. I'm glad you get something out of them, that's good.

I try not to censor myself, even though a good 40 - 45% of the posts I make are for my eyes only. Some stuff you just have to keep for yourself, and since I have no shame whatsoever I have to be careful what gets put out for public consumption - this being the internet and all. I'm glad you're along for the ride, welcome!
27th-Apr-2005 04:23 pm (UTC) - HMMM
I just wanted to say hi.. I know I came to your journal thru a friend I am not sure which one.. I enjoy reading it.. it's very intersting.. and you are damn cute too.. GRIN.. hope you have a great day.

Christopher.
27th-Apr-2005 05:09 pm (UTC) - Re: HMMM
Hmmm - if you ever remember, let me know - I'm always curious about who reads my journal as I never really know or what provokes them.

Awww, thankies for the compliment - I appreciate that. Take care and be well, thanks for walking the path!
27th-Apr-2005 04:35 pm (UTC)
I came across you on six10steve's blog. Even though we've never met in person you've showed yourself to be an awesome guy, and you've been a source of good advice and inspiration on the things going on in my life. I love your passion about life and everything in it. Thank you for being there. :)
27th-Apr-2005 05:11 pm (UTC)
Likewise, my friend. It's funny, I was explaining you to my best friend while we were making dinner the other night, she reasoned that if we lived closer that you'd be one of the members of our inner circle of chosen family, and that you'd probably be one of our closest friends before too long.

I'm always here, once you establish a place in my haert you have to fuck up real, REAL good to get evicted. *hug*
27th-Apr-2005 11:21 pm (UTC)
Hello.

I was inspired to sign after being called a fartknocker.

I friended you through the behest of Keening, who told me I would love your journal. She touted it as informative, educational, amusing, and inspiring, and it has not failed to be either of those things. I copy and paste your blogs and information about sites regarding Gays. I have a lot of young folks who read my journal (I am not too certain why they stay; I found them through a Queen - the band - community) and I want them to be exposed to, and consequently informed of, the climate regarding Gays in this society today. Things will change as they get older, and i want them to know what is going on, because I know they are not getting a wealth of well-rounded information at home or in school. Through our "friendship," we have opened up the lines of communication between young people, most of whom end up struggling wtih their sexuality, and the idea of sexuality in general.

I belong to a community called "Judged Christian" and it infuriates me that they are quick to judge what is sin, when they have created this community to get away from being judged. Why do I belong? I consider myself a Christian. I love the irony. not all of them are assholes though. But some of them... HOLE-LEE... one time... I had asked the community if we can possibly engage in open discourse regarding human sexuality outside of the bible for fuck's sake, because, really, what did a bunch of 1st century Palestinians know about human sexuality? (PLENTY! And they kept it out of the bible! BASTARDS!) And this woman replied: "I do not care to think outside the bible..."

Holy shit... Good God... Holy fuck, etc.

So... yeah, that is why I stick around. Thank you for sharing your journal - your insight, brutal honesty, your wide view of the world - with so many people.
29th-Apr-2005 12:49 am (UTC)
Yeah, that's Sharon for you! I'm glad our paths have crossed, new (and interesting - and intelligent) perspectives are great.

Thanks for your kindness!
28th-Apr-2005 01:56 am (UTC)
Well, from what I can tell, I found you through [info]dawning_star. I don't remember, how, when, or why.

Perhaps I found [info]dawning_star through you, and you mysteriously popped up on my friends list one day without my knowledge.

Either way, you're interesting and whatnot, so I'll keep you around. ^_^
29th-Apr-2005 12:49 am (UTC)
Hey - that'll work!
28th-Apr-2005 03:05 am (UTC) - heh... I'm so cool.
I don't sign guestbook. Guestbooks are so weak, and I'm totally cooler than that.

So I'm not signing it.

...yeah.
29th-Apr-2005 12:50 am (UTC) - Re: heh... I'm so cool.
Man, you guys are hella lame.
28th-Apr-2005 04:13 am (UTC)
Hey there!

I didn't find you, because well ... you found my journal first :P

Just thought I'd say hi, and nice layout ;)

Mike.
29th-Apr-2005 12:51 am (UTC)
Indeed! Isn't it a nice layout, though - the nicest, most generous guy made it and I lifted it from him. Thanks for taking the time to swing by here, and for your generosity.
28th-Apr-2005 12:19 pm (UTC)
Hi.

I found you through [info]benson3, and have been hooked on the word of Jude ever since.
29th-Apr-2005 12:52 am (UTC)
Lol @ the "word of Jude". Thanks for walking the path!
28th-Apr-2005 04:37 pm (UTC)
hullo! i found you through a google search on Jennifer Nettles. I came across "her" journal and then to you and then you helped me set up my very own el-jay and I've been addicted ever since! Yeah!
29th-Apr-2005 12:54 am (UTC)
Yes, I remember that! Thanks for sticking around, I told you you'd eventually get the hang of it!
2nd-May-2005 04:45 pm (UTC)
hey homie, i knowed you back in the day, man. back before livejournal before the internet, before I graduated from high school. (We met at Mama's house, right? With her collection of Mammy stuff, Aunt Jemimah loving freak!) And we've been through some shizzle together. And I love you to death forever!

That's all. Amen.
2nd-May-2005 04:48 pm (UTC)
Next to Tony, I've known you longest. And I love you forever too... ;O}
9th-Jun-2005 03:00 am (UTC)
Happened upon your journal randomly -- I'm a Mount Holyoke alum, posted on the MHC_alum community. While I was there, I read a post from another MHC alum. She had a link to your site.

Love your journal -- strong voices like yours to help unite like-minded people, so thanks.
9th-Jun-2005 03:26 am (UTC)
Thank you, I appreciate that!
12th-Jun-2005 12:46 am (UTC) - Hey *^^*
I wonder, am I the youngest person to sign your guest book?... Hmmm... I'll ponder that latter.
NEway, I found you via a dear friend of mine Cammie, Sn Lady_Shrainnan. Since then I have found you to be inspiring and greet conversation. *^^* I might not have known you very long but you've given me a lot to think about and gotten me out of my writers block!! ^.~* So, I friended you and I'm gonna start looking in on a semi-regular basis to see what your ranting about. Mostly b/c my life is boring once you burn away all the bad shit and you help make it more interesting! In a good way... So yeah.

Lotsa Luck&Love ~Dassani
14th-Jun-2005 01:22 pm (UTC) - Re: Hey *^^*
Thank you for your kindnesses, I welcome you to my LJ - it might get a little scary from time to time, but it's mine, so... ;-)
14th-Jun-2005 12:45 pm (UTC)
I'm not sure who pointed me here, but I'm glad they did! It was your most recent rant (the "if you read nothing else, read this" one), on fundies vs. human rights, to which the person had linked.

Absolutely fabulous, right on, stunning, and true. Thank you, thank you, thank you.

I'm straight and married. I'm also kinky, poly, Pagan, and need to come out. My friends and family come in all genders, shapes, colors, and sexual orientations: gay, straight (surprisingly few), bi, celibate, asexual, kinky, vanilla, mtf, ftm, non-transitioned, male-identified women, bois, crossdressers, male, female, intergender...they are each fully deserving of human rights. It seems, though, that the only ones who get those rights in full measure are the straight white mainstream-religion men.

So that's why, in a nutshell. You say what needs to be said, and you provide perspective that I might not otherwise see, and do so with intelligence, sagacity, and heart.
14th-Jun-2005 01:21 pm (UTC)
I think I just fell in love with you a little bit. Thank you for everything you've just said, you've made my day.
17th-Jun-2005 11:44 am (UTC) - Great writing
My wife and I (yes we live in Massachusetts) love reading your great explosions of prose. Thanks for all you do.
23rd-Oct-2005 02:28 am (UTC) - Re: Great writing
Thank you, and welcome!

Hey, better late than never, right?
20th-Jun-2005 12:23 am (UTC)
so here's the thing, i came across your journal from you're "GOD HATES STUPID HOMOPHOBES" banner. which is currently up in my lj. you seem to be a very intelligent person. :)
23rd-Oct-2005 02:29 am (UTC)
Thanks for posting and for the compliment as well!
