RAT BASTARD FRIDAY

Who's the bane of YOUR existence? Surely there's someone who pisses you off in such a huge way that it merits flogging, at least. 'Round here, we call that person a RAT BASTARD. Who is the person you most want to rip a new asshole for whatever reason? Go ahead - now's your chance to put them on blast. Start commenting, and have fun gettin' your hate on - and out. IP logging is off and anonymous commenters WERE welcome, but I've had to disable it since I've gotten six tons of bullshit spam comments lately. Sorry about that.

Go on - vent your spleen...

Also, check out/participate in the Friday Confessional and the subsequent Sunday Stoning, brought to you by the fantastic city_of_dis.

My husband's current (well, ex-, as of the twenty-ninth) employer. And the economy. Due to the fact that the Canadian dollar has gotten higher, against the US dollar, this year, and due to the fact that the book publishers aren't being as accommodating of this as we'd like (for understandable, if annoying, reasons), his company has set their website to go against Amazon, and thus against the brick and mortar stores as well. Thus the company is losing sales (people are upset that they're charging the Canadian price rather than the US price), his store alone has lost over $17,000 just this week, at least one other store in the city is closing, and tomorrow is his last day working. This would not suck quite so much if it wasn't for the fact that one, I cannot work yet (still waiting on my Canadian permanent residency), and two, this is the first job he's had that he absolutely loves, and he's being laid off through no fault of his own (or even his manager, who was practically crying when she told him; he's the first to be let go because, though he's the best customer service person in the store--both managers and co-workers have said so--he's legally blind, and thus slower at the till, and thus doesn't get as many sales as everyone else). And, of course, it just has to happen right around Christmas. It sucks!
